I've been coming here for a while now and I've never had a bad experience. The food is amazing and very consistent. I've ordered fish and chips at many different restaurants and this is by far the best in the area. Very fresh and the perfect breading! Highly recommend
We specifically ventured out to the Gaithersburg area to see what Ela Mesa can do for our Greek-food-cravings. It was our first time here, and if not for a nice little write-up that we saw online, we wouldn't have gone here. But it was a good thing that we did. Ela Mesa didn't disappoint. The location was perfect -- outdoor patio facing a nice plaza that, we bet, would be a busy hub of family activities during the sunny days. Even though it was windy and quite chilly, we chose to dine on the patio. It was way past lunchtime, but a couple or so hours before early dinner, so the flow was light. Even then, the outdoor seating was at full capacity. The food platters we ordered were filling and very good. The meats and salads tasted fresh and were spiced/dressed well. The Calamari, except for the too crumbly fried batter, proved to be tasty, and it was cooked just the way we preferred it (lots of tentacles included). The Baklava was excellent. Food aside, we have to give a special shout-out to "Peter," the very pleasant server who was always smiling, and who seemed to genuinely appreciate his job (he asked us to write this Google review for Ela Mesa ). He was attentive and very helpful (he suggested swapping the Greek salad in my platter for the one I truly craved, instead of me ordering an additional full plate of the beets); his honesty, diligence, prudence, and amiability, actually made our dining experience very enjoyable. ...Yes, we'd drive the extra few miles to dine here at Ela Mesa again.//
My husband, son and I had a delicious dinner in a clean and quiet environment. We ordered the lamb neck, chicken kebab and beet salad and enjoyed all three. I think our server's name was Peter. I would like to thank Peter here as well.
We had a wonderful experience—this place is both inviting and delicious. I ordered the beet salad, and my wife chose the chicken skewers. Both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—we were very happy with our choices. What really stood out, in addition to the food, was the service. Peter and Bob, the two young men attending our table, were exceptionally attentive without being intrusive. They worked seamlessly together, always nearby when needed, yet never interrupting our conversation. It was the perfect balance of hospitality and professionalism. A genuinely pleasant lunch with the reasonable prices —we’ll definitely be back!

First time and will be back! Food was delicious, great atmosphere and friendly service from our amazing server Wellington! Had the octopus, fried zucchini chips and saganoki (flaming cheese) would recommend them all! The special Seabream whole fish was fantastic - great place!
My wife ordered the chicken souvlaki platter with FF and Greek salad and I got chicken souvlaki/gyro platter with FF and Greek salad. Both my wife and I thought the chicken souvlakia and Greek salad was the best we have ever eaten at a restaurant. The baklava was the best ever too. We are Greek Americans and my wife cooks excellent Greek food. So we shall return and try the seafood next trip to Ella Messa A Taste of Greece..
Ela Mesa Taste of Greece is a gem! My husband and I had a perfect date night here—delicious, authentic Greek cuisine and wonderful service. We shared the Shrimp Saganaki and the flaming cheese, both incredible (the lemony cheese was a standout!). For our entree, we had the special—grilled seabream flown in fresh from Greece. Our waiter, Baris, expertly filleted it tableside and gave fantastic wine recommendations. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Highly recommend for an authentic Greek dining experience!
